Metal Spraying
McLeay Precision Engineering Ltd - Metal Spraying

MPE Ltd. has been metal spraying for 20 years; they have a variety of options available to their customers including steel, stainless steel, titanium, and ceramics.

Most shafts eventually wear around bearing and seal positions. MPE can restore these at a fraction of the cost of a new shaft in most cases.

They operate both wire and powder spray equipment to give their customers the best solution.

The process basics:

All methods of thermal metal spraying involve the projection of small molten or softened particles onto a prepared surface where they adhere and form a continuous coating. To create the molten particles, a specialised metal spray gun / heat source, is used to spray the chosen filler material. Upon contact, the particles flatten onto the surface, freeze and mechanically bond, firstly onto the roughened substrate and then onto each other as the coating thickness is increased.
